On July 1st, 2021, in the celebration of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the General Secretary of the Supreme Leader clearly summed up the great party-building spirit for the first time as "persisting in truth, ideals, practicing initial intentions, undertaking missions, not afraid of sacrifice, fighting bravely, being loyal to the party and not living up to the people". These 32 words embody the red gene and rich connotation of the great spirit of party building. The Communist Party of China (CPC) has gone through a magnificent 100 years since it set sail from the Red Boat in Nanhu, Jiaxing. The great party-building spirit has shown its powerful ideological strength and unswerving feelings for the people in the tempering of the eventful years in the past 100 years, and has written an earth-shaking historical great cause. Standing at a new historical starting point, it is of great practical and theoretical significance to uphold and develop Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era by inheriting the great spirit of party building, inheriting the red gene and drawing inexhaustible motive force from the great spirit to overcome difficulties and dare to win.
Adhering to the truth and ideals is the political soul of the great spirit of party building.
General Secretary of the Supreme Leader pointed out: "The belief in Marxism, socialism and communism is the political soul of communist party people and the spiritual pillar for communist party people to stand any test." Looking back at the history of modern China, since the Opium War, Chinese people have carried out various explorations such as the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, the Westernization Movement, the Boxer Movement, the Reform Movement of 1898, and the Revolution of 1911, but all ended in failure. The sound of the October Revolution in Russia brought Marxism–Leninism to China’s advanced elements who were struggling for national salvation and survival. This is the truth that human beings explore historical laws and seek liberation! Then the Communist Party of China (CPC), a political party with Marxism as its guiding ideology, was born!
In the course of a hundred years, generations of the Communist Party of China (CPC) people have never given up their persistence in Marxist truth and their adherence to the communist ideal, no matter what hardships and great disasters they have experienced. Lei Feng’s "to contribute everything to the cause of human liberation communism, which is the happiest." Revolutionary ancestors wrote touching and inspiring true stories with practical actions, defended the truth with blood and life, and adhered to their ideals with firm revolutionary will. With a century-long mission at hand, our party is determined to seek happiness for the people of China and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In the face of extremely severe difficulties, challenges and obstacles, our party has always shouldered the historical mission of national rejuvenation, United and led the people of all ethnic groups throughout the country to live and die together, share weal and woe, self-reliance, hard struggle, emancipate their minds, seek truth from facts, self-revolution, and innovation. The Chinese nation has ushered in a great leap from standing up, becoming rich and becoming strong, and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation has entered an irreversible historical process.
Not afraid of sacrifice and heroic struggle, this is the cornerstone of the great spirit of party building.

Being loyal to the party and not being responsible to the people is the core and commitment of the great spirit of party building.

Deng Yingchao’s pledge to join the party in 1925 was: "I must abide by party constitution, obey the party’s discipline, keep the secret of the Conservative Party, and spare no expense in blood to fight for communism for life!" In 1926, Wang Shusheng’s pledge to join the party was: "I voluntarily joined the Communist Party of China (CPC), obeyed the party’s discipline, fought for communism all my life, kept secrets strictly, and vowed not to betray the party." In the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Museum, there is a pledge of joining the Party that has been baptized by blood and fire. This is a pledge of joining the Party by a poor farmer named He Yeduo who joined the revolution. "Sacrifice individuals, keep secrets, fight class, work hard for the revolution, obey party discipline and never betray the party." Since joining the party in 1931, this oath has been an inexhaustible spiritual motivation for him to join the communist cause.
