U-disk virus "body double" cross-infects a large number of printers’ computers and becomes a virus spread carrier.
Xinhua News Agency, Tianjin, June 3 (Reporter Zhou Runjian) 360 Internet Security Center recently issued a virus alert, saying that a U disk virus named "body double" is being cross-infected in a large number across the country, and computers in print shops all over the country have become carriers of virus infection and spread. It is graduation season, and students are vulnerable to such virus attacks when printing graduation papers and other materials.
Tan Heli, an anti-virus engineer of 360, said that the body double virus is very confusing. It will hide the files in the U disk and create a shortcut with the same name as the hidden data as "body double". If the victim double-clicks to open the shortcut when using the computer, the virus in the U disk will be activated and infected with the computer it is connected to, so as to realize rapid cross-propagation between different computers.
Tan Heli said that, unlike the common U disk viruses in the past, the body double virus is more stubborn, and it will start a "guardian" process to protect the virus.
Although the U disk data hidden by the virus can be found by setting "Show hidden files", the shortcut created by the virus will still remain in the U disk. Tan Heli reminded that you must not delete the shortcut manually, which will lead to the data on the U disk being emptied by the virus. If virus infection is found, you should use professional and safe killing software to kill the virus on the U disk, which can completely remove body double and other U disk viruses and repair files damaged by virus infection.
