BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) According to Korean Central News Agency, on March 18 and 19, North Korea held imaginary comprehensive tactical training on nuclear counterattack, under the guidance of Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and State Councilor of North Korea. Kim Jong-un pointed out that this comprehensive tactical training is an important opportunity for North Korea’s nuclear combat force to quickly and correctly complete the containment of war and strive for war dominance at any time and in any unexpected situation.

According to reports, tactical nuclear weapons use the imaginary comprehensive tactical training of troops’ nuclear counterattack, which is carried out under the tension that the joint military exercise between the United States and South Korea is gradually expanding and a large number of US nuclear strategic weapons and equipment are put into South Korea.
This training was held to effectively strengthen the containment and nuclear counterattack capability of the Korean War and familiarize the relevant troops with the execution procedures and steps of tactical nuclear attack missions. Another purpose is to send a "tougher will and warning" to countries that "ignore the repeated warnings of the DPRK, expose obvious war plots, expand aggressive war exercises, and indiscriminately carry out offensive military actions."

According to reports, the two-day imaginary comprehensive tactical training of nuclear counterattack is divided into nuclear strike command system management exercise, practical training to turn into nuclear counterattack situation and tactical ballistic missile launch training equipped with simulated nuclear warhead.
On March 18th, the training re-examined the reliability of the command, control and application system of tactical nuclear force from many aspects. From the strict security point of view, it tested the correctness of the procedures for issuing and receiving nuclear attack orders and the order of handling nuclear weapons in various hypothetical emergencies. According to the operating procedures of various nuclear attack schemes, it was familiar with the operational order and tactics of quickly turning to nuclear attack.
On the morning of the 19th, a ballistic missile launch training was conducted to simulate a tactical nuclear attack. North Korea’s national defense is strong and pure, and the head of the joint force, the commanders of the missile units on the eastern and western fronts and the commanders of the division teams, who are in full command of the tactical nuclear weapons, observe the shooting training.
