Hong Kong’s golden melody celebrates the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and sings on the nebula.
Special feature of 1905 film network The pearl shines on the Xiangjiang River, and the bauhinia is in full bloom. Twenty-five years after its return to the motherland, Hong Kong has been in high spirits and making steady progress on the road of development. The first golden song, the blessing of sound and the picture of light and shadow of the times show the vitality of the 25-year-old Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, People’s Daily New Media, Film Channel Media Center and 1905 Film Network jointly launched the live broadcast of "Our Bauhinia" cloud song concert on the evening of June 27th, which gathered nearly 100 filmmakers and musicians to reproduce classic Hong Kong music, Hong Kong films and Hong Kong dramas in the form of "cloud singing, cloud audio-visual, cloud connection and cloud interaction", with a strong Hong Kong style to interpret the feelings of home and country.
The cloud song will be narrated by the host of the movie channel and the filmmaker. More than 60 programs will be presented continuously, and the nearly 4-hour live broadcast will set off a wave of watching the whole network. It is worth mentioning that the film channel host group completed the first performance on the cloud — — Lan Yu’s Guzheng played the role of "Laughing at the Sea", and Ying Ling, Li Dan and Roman sang "I have an appointment with Spring". Ying Ling and Jin Ze, both of whom are Guangdong nationals, even presented the Cantonese singing stage.
Flowers bloom undefeated, and songs fill Xiangjiang.
The memory of the harbor wind kills the singing on the clouds.
"The river bends south and flows to Xiangjiang to have a look … …” On the banks of Xiangjiang River, the classic melody of Pearl of the Orient was sung again. Twenty-five years have passed, and this place where bauhinia blooms has not lost its elegance. Under the witness of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s integration and development, the former "Pearl of the Orient" is even more dazzling today.
Jiang Tao is full of weather. Hong Kong pop culture, including Hong Kong music, Hong Kong films and Hong Kong dramas, has been deeply engraved in the hearts of mainland audiences in the past half century.
"When I was a child, I listened to a lot of Cantonese songs. In that golden age, the first song I can think of was’ Brother’s’ The Wind Keep Blowing’." I once caught a glimpse of Leslie Cheung in the movie, which makes me unforgettable. Singing the theme song of this movie with charming voice, Zhou Xun paid tribute to not only his eternal "brother", but also his immortal memory of Hong Kong music.
Once upon a time, Cantonese golden songs were well-known in Xiangjiang, but also constantly radiated to the mainland by the image charm of movies and TV series, among which there were many well-known lyrics like "Waves Running and Waves Flowing". At the Yunge Festival, as soon as the actor of Li Ding in the original play sang, it was a "memory killing" that penetrated the audience of the whole network.

In the 1990s, TVB became the master of Hua Dan and sang the theme song of the same name starring in the 1994 Hong Kong drama "Laughing at the Storm". Widely regarded as the most classic "aunt", she sang the theme song "Go Home" … … The "memory killing" is one after another, and the classic of Hong Kong style can still create new charm today.

In order to present this new idea, the live broadcast team of the movie channel devoted their ingenuity to the filming level. When singing "Intimacy" with a pregnant belly, there is a couple who perform intimate love in the restaurant in real time.
The harmony of the chorus theme song "Laughing at the Red Dust" is adapted to local conditions in Hengdian studio, incarnating the chivalrous woman in the light and shadow world;
In the chivalrous world of A Laugh at the Sea, there are not only heroic songs, but also the passionate drums of Zhao Muyang, the king of drums, and the guzheng string sound of Lan Yu, the host of the movie channel … … It did not play on the cloud that distanced the audience, but expanded the classic meaning and the concept of singing with dexterous and diverse interaction.

After Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, film and television songs such as Star Talk, Years Like Songs and If Love have continued to spread, and popular songs such as Unfortunately, I am Aquarius, Girl with Wings and Bike have also become classics. These works, which turn the public into the "king of K songs" in minutes, sing in the clouds, and behind them is the invincible Bauhinia totem of Hong Kong Music.
The more you sing, the stronger you will be, and March towards the future.
On the Spirit of Lion Mountain
"After 25 years of reunification, Hong Kong is moving forward and China is moving forward." In the film, the father who plays the role of supporting his family on his shoulders traces the life attitude of "one step is difficult, one step is good" through the cloud song club. This ordinary spirit of being brave in the storm, optimistic and strong is called the "Lion Mountain Spirit" of Hong Kong people.
A song "Under the Lion Mountain" has been an inspiring song for Hong Kong people to overcome the difficulties since it was born in the late 1970s. Wong Cho Lam, who is one year younger than this song, regards the lyrics of "Laugh more than sigh" and "Step over the rugged terrain hand in hand" as the spiritual enlightenment of his growth.
Wong Cho Lam, who skillfully sang "Under the Lion Mountain", still remembers his "green leaf" career. "I ran a walk-on during the day and answered the radio at night. I didn’t sleep for three days and three nights, and I was exhausted, but I never underestimated myself."
The slogan "Work hard, struggle" continues this unbreakable spiritual vein through comedies with tears in laughter. For the vast number of Hong Kong filmmakers, this is precisely the spirit of Hong Kong that they have shown through their works.
The Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA), signed and implemented in June 2003, opened a new chapter for co-production of Hong Kong films.
Looking back at the interesting stories of the "Old Hong Kong Film" era in the cloud, China and Hong Kong filmmakers also shared their successful experiences in filming series, series and other co-productions. "Hong Kong films entered the mainland market in the form of co-productions, and were distributed and divided into accounts, which brought spring to Hong Kong films."
At the same time, the development of co-production also creates opportunities for the exchange and integration of filmmakers in the two places. The experience of filming in Hong Kong not only started the nomination trip of mainland actors for the Hong Kong Film Awards for six times, but also made her have a deeper understanding of outstanding Hong Kong filmmakers while gradually mastering Cantonese. "Mainland filmmakers and Hong Kong filmmakers have long been inseparable from each other. I hope that everyone will continue to create fine films with great prosperity. Hong Kong is my blessed land and I hope that Hong Kong will get better and better!"
"The bay rises to the bright moon, and all the galaxies in the world." When the singer gently sang the theme song "Bay" of the 2021 Greater Bay Area Mid-Autumn Festival Music Evening, some netizens bluntly "wore" the beautiful night in the Bay Area last year. Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area’s deep integration and development in economy and culture is the power source for Hong Kong’s vigorous and steady development into the future.
The new sound storm, the stronger you sing. JC-T, Deng Xiaoci, Zeng Bite, Yan Mingxi and other mainland and Hong Kong new generation singers sang "on the cloud", singing together with youthful vigor for the future.
As one of the most dazzling world business cards in Hong Kong and even in China, the filmmakers voiced their emotions at the Yunge Festival: "In the past 25 years, our Bauhinia has withstood the test and surmounted the obstacles, and our SAR has not changed its original intention and its faith is still firm. Today, 25 years later, we should repay this land with our own struggle and integrate our dreams into the future of our country. Let’s write the new glory of Hong Kong together. I believe tomorrow will be better! "
